You can read about the file cabinets all around the internet. You will find out interesting facts about the cabinets. For example you can read about their purposes, about their designs, about the way how they should be organized. In this article I would like to focus on more technical point of view. I would like to tell you some basic information about the way they are made from steel. So let’s start.

• The steel for the file cabinets is 18-gauge and it undertakes special process to sustain the quality and functionality that the cabinet should have.
• The manufacturing process starts with preparing the components. The steel is brought up to the factory in different sizes so that the case and the smaller components could be made. The smaller components are shelves or drawers. The steel is either cut or stamped in a press.
• The steel have to be cut into the sides, top and the bottom of the case. The panels, ribs and gussets are made by folding the steel several times.
• The cabinet’s parts have to be also painted. That is made on two assembly lines.
• Sometimes the wine storage cabinets is also painted by the electrostatic gun that will disperse the color in powdered form.
• When the painting is finished the parts are welded together. The welding starts with the top, bottom and the sides to create the basic cabinet skeleton.
• To complete the cabinet few more things have to be added like the compressor, the sliding mechanism and the handles to the drawers.
• Then the slide mechanism is attached. So now the drawers can be put in. The detailing like handles, locks, labels are also placed.
After the cabinet is put together what follows is the quality control. The documents have to be protected against many things like the dust, water, light, or fire. The cabinets should resist the impact and the rust. The cabinets will undertake some test to prove that they can last for several decades. After this long process the cabinets go to the stores where companies or individuals can buy it form.Lean To Conservatory Click now to view how a lean to conservatory can provide stunning results to your house or residence.

The Construction of the cabinet
• File cabinet body – the body of the cabinet is the part that is left over when you remove all drawers.
• File drawer – the essential part of the cabinet. The place where are the papers stored, usually in the file folds. The drawers are accessed by the rails. The cabinet can have up to 5 drawers.
• The cabinets locks – every cabinet can be extra secured, and therefore the documents can be kept safe. The cabinet can be locked by one lock or every drawer can have an individual lock for higher level of security. The lock can be the plunger lock or the cam lock, but also combination lock.
• The drawer handle – that is here for pulling the drawer open. It can be attached to the thumbatch. That allows you to open the drawer after pressing this slide activator.

The lateral cabinet can be made from metal or wood. Metal is more durable, but the wood looks better. Also metal cabinets are sometimes made from fireproof materials and so they can withstand fire for several hours. The documents in these files will be secured till the firemen come.

January 19th, 2011

A file cabinet is nothing but a piece of office furniture that is used to store paper documents which are stored in files and folders. In simple terms it is nothing but a cluster of drawers which are used for this purpose. There are basically two types of filing cabinets. They are called as lateral files and vertical files. A lateral file cabinet is nothing but an enclosure of drawers that extend or rather comes out from the long side of the cabinet. There is another name that is given to this lateral filing cabinet in Great Britain which is of the side filers. They also call it lateral files and shelf files. These Lateral Filing Cabinet are designed to accommodate 8.5*11 sized papers. This size is usually adopted in the United States. In other countries they are generally used to store A4 paper. The lateral files are usually 20 inches deep and are designed with different widths. Like 30, 36, 42 inch widths are available with 2, 3, 4, 5 drawer versions. Usually in cubicle workstations the most commonly used one is the 30 inch which is 760mm and a two drawer version is the perfect one. This is especially designed and engineered for the purpose that is fits perfectly alongside the cubicle work surfaces. The design and the engineering that is used for the 3, 4, 5 drawer files are as similar as the vertical files. The lateral files allow side to side and also back to back filing and this is not as same as vertical files. The letter size files that are to be arranged front to back are usually kept in the 3inch wide lateral files. In this the maximum amount of filing per cabinet is enabled. There are also lateral file cabinets which enable side to side filling.Exotic Car Rental Miami seo agency Wireless Home Alarm Systems
